Yesterday my baby boy turned 1! I kind of can't believe it. Not because I feel like time has gone by so fast, but because I can't believe I'm old enough to have a 1 year old. I hear a lot of mom's say they need some sort of an award on the kid's birthday because a year ago they were doing a lot of hard work. So naturally I felt like saying that, but it isn't true. I had a Cesearean so honestly the hardest part of my day was not eating and curling my hair (hello...pictures) before I went to the hospital. Pathetic I know...
We had a great day. It included:
- A trip to the Living Planet Aqarium, you must go. The penguins, seahorses and sting rays are my favorite. although the water from touching the sting rays made my arm burn. scary.
- A sweet Super Why birthday cake made by Erica of Purple Paisley Designs (who I went to high school with) Check out her blog. She's fantastic, and offers a ton of different services.
- A birthday party with family
- Swimming at Aunt's condo. Z LOVES water. He understands Splash and will kick his legs and move his arms as fast as he can. We sat him up on the ledge and he makes this sound kind of like a duck and leans forward with the biggest smile ever jumps in! I hope he will always love the water and not get a phobia for it like some kids.
- Z made it 1 mile in the car before he fell asleep. We tried to wake him up for dinner but he was out. So yes, he did have birthday cake for dinner. What a lucky kid
- We ended the night at Cracker Barrell. (not loving that place like I used to)
I've loved being a mom to Z, he's the sweetest, cutest, funniest, loudest, smartest, most cuddly boy I know. He makes motherhood seem easy when all I hear from other mom's is how hard it is. (don't get me wrong, I have my days where it is hard, but overall, he's easy) I can't wait to see what this year brings you!

You need to post a good picture of the onesie you made him. (1sie- get it? ha ha)
That kid is such a doll!! Seriously he is so cute. Sounds like he had a great time :)
