Z-Man's Birthday

I have a 3 year old. I have a 3 year old......
Where did my little baby go? I never used to believe my mom when she said she loved all her kids the same, (and still don't) but I really do love them the same. But Zaner was my first. He made me a mama. He put me through the ringer with worry while he was still in my belly. He was sooo tiny. I didn't know that I could do it, be a mom. He changed me. He made me love Ryan more than I knew I could. He made me want to be a better person. He made me love my Heavenly Father more. He makes me so happy.

He is growing and learning new things by the second. He is a little trickster. He hides to jump out and scare you. He's a teaser. He's a runner. He's such a sweet big brother. He loves to help Millie when she is sad by singer her Twinkle Twinkle Littler Star. He's Ryan's best buddy. I love watching him watch his daddy.

Zaney Zoo, at 3 years old you:
have the alphabet down
can count to 20 most times, but to 14 always
know all your colors, your favorite is Red
know all your shapes; even ones like crescent and octagon
LOVES trains and cars
are testing all rules
Have given your daddy 1 black eye
still have the most beautiful baby blue eyes
have a mommy and daddy and baby sister that love you more than you will ever know. Thanks for being mine and making me a mama. I love you. -Mama

This kid #3

I kind of can't get enough of this kid.

Saturday was eventful.
We went to a birthday party for his cousin who is turning 4.
Pretty much everything he got had something to do with Cars.
Z-Man is obsessed with Cars.
He was really struggling watching all the awesome presents be unwrapped.
Every time he would get so excited and say, "For me!" I'd have to tell him that it wasn't.
It was pretty sad.
Then, after his cousin had opened one of his presents Z-Man said, "Oh. I'm so sorry." Then he paused and said, "That one is for me." He was so sincere an apologetic that that was his toy and not his cousins. I about died laughing.

Right after that we went to Costco.
I let Z-Man walk beside me in the store and he was being such a good boy.
As we were standing in the checkout line surrounded by a ton of people he is looking around with a horrific look on his face.
I asked him what was wrong and he held his hands out and pointed and yelled, "They all have big butts mom!"
Awesome Z-Man. Just awesome.

This kid #2

I wrote my last post too soon. I wrote about my most wonderful little boy who is sweeter than all sweet. It must have been a good day. Most days things like this happen.

Ya, he's kind of naughty.
This is NOT the first time.
The 4th to be exact.
At least he didn't draw all over the couch this time.

This actually happened.

This time we made him scrub the walls. He hated it. Not just because it was hard, but mostly because he was so proud of his masterpieces. He kept saying, "No Mom! Stop! My drawings!"
I have a feeling this is going to keep happening.

This Kid

This kid is hilarious lately.
He's started to say things in a deep throaty voice. ex: "Never!"
The other day he wanted to say our family prayer. So we start, "Dear Heavenly  Father"
Well, he says "Father" in his deep throaty voice. It took us about 10 minutes to get through the prayer because we were trying not to laugh.

He thinks he's a puppy. He sneaks in the dog house, gives puppy kisses, and likes to play fetch. He's a really good puppy too. Sometimes when I ask him to do something as a boy, he says, "Never!" but if I ask the puppy to do it he does it immediately.

He is learning new words daily. He's learning them so fast that he doesn't always understand what he is saying and it turns out to be really funny.
He gives the BEST squeezes.
He shares with Miss Mills.
He is always worried about people. If you're sad, he'll give you a kiss and ask to see your happy face.
If you are sick, he gives you a squeeze and will pat your back.
If you are tired he'll get you a blanket.
He tells me he loves me unprompted.
He tells me to have sweet dreams.

He's just the best. And he's mine.

This makes me laugh

He was not expecting this. LOL

It's what fun is

The company I work for held a company party at Lagoon, a local amusement park. We took our Z-Man last year and he went nuts, this year was no different. He loves the thrill. I love that about him. He can hardly contain himself while in line waiting to board each ride. This year was especially fun because he has been watching Little Einsteins so before each ride he would pat his lap, faster and faster, then put his arms up high and scream, "BLAST OFF!" Pure happiness radiated from him the entire night.
Miss Mills also got in on the action this year. She was able to ride a few rides, and from the looks of it, she'll be riding every ride with her big bro next year.

he must have been receiving revelation

Life

Lately I have been so worn out. I literally am busy all the time. When I'm not at work, I am home taking care of the two cuties. During that time I do all the house work, cooking, and project for the etsy shop. Sometimes I'm lucky to get in a workout, but that usually backfires because then I'm even more tired. Sometimes I play the poor me game to myself. I hate that. I know this time while my husband is going to school and working will be over eventually and we will be able to have a "normal" life together. And I know I am dang lucky to have these two cuties. They love each other so much. Mills is always watching Zoo and Zoo is always trying to pull her off the couch or around on the floor to come play with him. So even being worn out, it's all worth it in the end.

His new favorite way to sleep. I love it.

I told you he loves Mills. He insisted on sleeping there.

Kid talk that's not so cute

Most of the time when a child starts talking it's so cute. Except yesterday when we got in the car and Z said,
"Seat belt. Mama's Car. Crash"

Seriously?!?

I was freaked out. We only had about 8 blocks to go to get home but I drove about 5 miles under the speed limit the entire way home.
Freaky.

Worst day of my life.

Rhyno and I had the most traumatic experience of our lives.
Our sweet little Z had eaten a prescription pain pill. A very strong one.
When a child takes a pill like that it affects their respiratory system.
Z stopped breathing. Long enough to turn blue.
As I was having a panic attack Rhyno came to the rescue and gave Z CPR to get him to start breathing again. He saved his life. What an awesome daddy right?
We took him to the ER. It was complete torture to watch Z as he didn't feel well, wasn't sure what was happening, and he had a million nurses trying to get an IV in his arm.
They admitted him into the hospital and that night they ended up having to give him Narcan (a drug to reverse the side effects of the pill he ate) because he wasn't breathing well.
It was really scary because the Dr. told us he could have bad side effects and could quite possibly have a seizure. Luckily, that did not happen. It worked wonders, he started breathing normally and slept for a good 10 hours.
Rhyno and I said about a gazillion (that's a lot) of prayers during those three days. Rhyno was able to (with his dad) give Z a Priesthood blessing. We could feel the love and prayers from so many of our family and friends. I'll forever be grateful for that.
Cherish your kids every second. For those who have never had a scary thing like that happen, just take my advice to love every second with your children, the good and the bad. Being a parent is by far the most rewarding experience I've ever had and I'm so grateful that as I'm typing this I have two beautiful, healthy, and safe babies slumbering not too far from me.

2!

Z boy turned 2! We took him to the Provo Beach Resort. There are so many things to do there and you don't have to spend hardly any money. It's awesome. He had a blast with his cousin T. They sure are fun to watch.

Sick day

My little buddy is sick today. It's not fair for kids to be sick.

Big Brother Z

Lately I've been thinking a lot about my little Z becoming a big brother.
He loves babies-or at least his cousin who is the only baby he sees. If I ask him where his baby sister is he will point to my belly and give her a kiss and hug.
I think he'll be a great big brother..... But I'm not ready for him to be one yet.
I still call him Baby Z.
I want him to stay my baby.....forever. I stress everyday about the day when he won't hug and kiss me willingly, snuggle up on my lap, and run to me for every problem.
I dread the day when he "hates" me and his daddy.
I love the way he gets so excited when I walk in the door, even if I was only gone for a few minutes.
How come being a parent is so hard? Maybe because it's so good?

Tough as Nails

This kid of mine has no fear. We took him to a local amusement park and he LOVED it!
He was throwing fits in line when having to wait his turn.
He didn't care if it was a ride by himself or with us.
He's not scared of heights.
I hope he never changes and can always enjoy life without fear.

sometimes he thinks he's old enough to give me this look..he's not.
