Mormon Monday

After a 2 week hiatus, Mormon Mondays are back! And this couldn't be a better Monday for it. This past weekend I was able to listen to General Conference. In case you aren't privy, General Conference is a semiannual gathering of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. During general conference weekend, Church members and other who are interested gather worldwide in a series of two-hour sessions to receive inspiration and instruction from Church leaders.
For me, it's a time to reflect on the things I can do to better my own life. This time there were quite a few. One of the things I've really been struggling with this entire year is serving others. I feel like I've been quite selfish in all of my relationships. This conference marked the 75th anniversary of the Church Welfare Program, which is a programs started to help people suffering from the Great Depression. Today it helps victims of major natural disasters and people who are struggling financially. Many of the speakers talked about serving others, one of my favorites was President Dieter F. Uchdorf's talk.
To me, general conference is very personal. I feel like the speakers are speaking directly to me, sometimes calling me out on the things I need to work on. I wish that all of you would watch it. If you want to, click here. What was your favorite talk?
