Oh Nuts!

Peanuts that is..
Have I told you my little zoo is allergic to peanuts? I was so excited once I realized I could feed him peanut butter and jam sandwiches (I love them with milk and string cheese) only to see a tiny little rash all over little zoo's body. I called his doctor and since it wasn't a really bad reaction he said we were fine, just avoid anything with peanuts in it like the plague and hopefully he'll grow out of it. Well, at our house we eat the Chewy granola bars. Our favorite is the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip. We are so used to giving zoo little bites of everything we eat while sitting in church we gave him the tiniest bite of one. Sure enough by the end of church he had a horrible rash all over his whole body. We felt terrible. The doctor said every reaction is worse than the last one. Luckily it wasn't bad enough that he stopped breathing. That is just scary. I made his doctor write me a prescription to get him an epi pen. I so hope I NEVER have to use it.

On the plus side, it's made me discover Nutella. I've seen the commercials like a million times but I hadn't ever eaten it. Now that I have, I don't even eat Peanut Butter anymore. It's chocolate people! And you can replace it for Peanut Butter on everything! dipping apples, sandwiches, toast. The only thing is not on celery. I haven't tried it but it sounds nasty. It's not healthy like the commercials say, it's a little on the pricey side, but man is it delicious. And Zoo loves it too!

Do you have a peanut allergy? It's in everything! I have to read every label for anything I give him. I feel lucky to not have any.

here's a picture of him. He's so cute.

I love those glasses on him.
I almost bought Nutella the other day, but couldn't commit to it. Maybe I can try yours to know if I think it is worth buying. Yeah, I'm a cheapskate.

Nutella is awesome, I lived on it when I was pregnant. I think I went through like two jars. I think it's kind of cheap at costco, but you have to buy it in huge bulk. Plus as a bonus, it's less fattening than even the "light" peanut butter :)
